The reason it is called the Bozdoğan is that some of its types are likened to the head of this predatory bird. The mace was more of a smashing, crushing, smashing assault weapon that people used in close combat before the invention of firearms. According to its shape and weight, it was known as “pull mace, cut mace, hanging mace, prickly mace”.
